NCR Green Building Policy

Green building policies in various forms now affect most real estate projects in the National Capital Region. These policies vary widely from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and come in the form of both mandates and incentives.

To assist stakeholders with understanding and navigating the region’s numerous policies, USGBC National Capital Region has partnered with three area law firms that represent clients on green building-related matters—Holland & Knight, Patton Boggs, and Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. These firms will share their expertise through monthly updates on green building policy issues affecting the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
