About USGBC-NCR

The USGBC-National Capital Region Chapter (USGBC-NCR) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are one of 77 Chapters nationwide that are the local voice of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the foremost green building organization in the country.

USGBC-NCR promotes sustainability, advocates for green building policies, and fosters relationships among like-minded professionals through education, networking and outreach programs that are offered here in the National Capital Region.

Ten years ago when USGBC-NCR began its campaign to transform the built environment in the DC metropolitan area, green building design and construction was just being to garner interest.

Today, our territory:

• has some of the strongest green building codes in the country 
• is a major market for green building industry innovation
• leads the nation in LEED-certified space per person
• has one of the highest concentrations of LEED-accredited professionals in the nation

While we are proud of these achievements, there is still more work to do. Join us in reaching further, expanding our sphere of influence and realizing our parent organization’s vision of green buildings for everyone within a generation here in the National Capital Region.
