The U.S. Green Building Council, in conjunction with Youth Speaks, presents "Bringing the Noise for the Earth," a powerful performance featuring slam poetry and inspirational stories of change from young leaders across the country.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 6 PM to 7 PM at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Millennium Stage, 2700 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20566 There is no admission fee. Bringing the Noise for the Earth will feature the USGBC Young Leaders and Youth Speaks Green Team Poets whose year-long relationship has fostered dialogue about the environmental challenges facing their communities and how they are making them right. The five USGBC Young Leaders are being honored for their demonstrated commitment to sustainability change in their schools, communities and beyond. The Youth Speaks Poets represent the top poets who competed against hundreds of their peers to make it to the Brave New Voices Festival last summer and became finalists at that point.
