Members Elect Six to Chapter Board

The members of the NCR chapter have chosen six outstanding individuals to serve on the chapter's Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 program years.

The Nominating Committee of the chapter received applications froom 27 individuals expressing interest in serving on the chapter board. Members of the chapter voted on all candidates during the month of November and early December. Two incumbent members of the Board were re-elected to a two-year term and four new individuals will join the Board beginning on January 1, 2010. Re-elected to a two-year term is Shannon Sentman, LEED AP, Principal, Sol Vista Holdings, in WAshington, DC. Shannon is currently serving as First Vice Chairman of the chapter, and co-chair of the REAL Green Core Planning Committee. Also re-elected is Annette Osso, president of Virginia Sustainable Building Network in Arlington, Virginia, and co-chair of the chapter's Advocacy Conmmittee. New members to the Board include: Bill Eklund, LEED AP, LEED Administrator at Dietze Construction in Ashburn, Virginia. In addition to his LEED credentials, Bill is also a Green Advantage Certified instructor and has several LEED projects in progress. Takehiro Nakamura, LEED AP, Associate at OPX in Washington, DC. Takehiro is a former chair of the Emerging Green Builders committee of the chapter and worked on the design team for the first LEED Gold-certified hotel on the East Coast. Laura Schonfeld, LEED AP, is a Project Manager at Hitt Contracting in Falls Church, Virginia. Laura i a former co-chair of the Emerging Green Builders committee and is currently serving on the Core Planning Committee for the REAL Green Conference in 2010. Debbie Webb, LEED AP, is Director of Property Management at The Tower Companies. Debbie has been active in promoting sustainable design throughout the commercial real estate community and especially within the Tower Companies residential and commercial portfolio.
