October Program Features Regional Credits and "Living Building Challenge"

by Tom Mawson, NCR chapter Executive Director

The October networking event on October 28 for the NCR chapter features a look at our regional challenges. The program is designed to prepare people for the Greenbuild Conference and Exposition in Boston next month.

This month's program features a summary of efforts by a committee representing all chapters in the Northeast U.S. to address the issue of regionalization of LEED credits in 2009. The NCR chapter's representative to the committee, Lloyd Ntuk of Patton, Harris, Rust and Associates, will summarize the committee's recommendations.

Next, Lance Hosey of William McDonough & Partners, will speak about the Cradle to Cradle system.

Finally, Ted van der Linden, DPR Construction's Director on Sustainability, and a member of the USGBC National Board, will talk about the Living Building Challenge.

Note: this program will not feature a sponsored reception, although some water and soft drinks will be available.
