Tour Stoddert Elementary School and Community Center, LEED Gold

by

Tour Stoddert Elementary School on November 17th! The building dates back to 1932 and due to lack of common spaces like a gym and cafeteria, underwent renovations which were completed in 2010. The building includes the District's first ground source heat pump system which helped the campus achieve LEED for Schools Gold. It is a multipurpose building: during the day, it is a 300+ student elementary school, but in the evening it is a community center, including both the buildings and the grounds. The building incorporates daylight views to the surrounding landscape, enhanced classroom acoustics, FSC casework, recycled content in the building's materials and low-flow water fixtures.
