September's Members of the Month: Nicole Snarski & Andrea Hidalgo
by
'It's sad to see summer close, but looking back, we've packed a lot into these past few months! As the Co-Chairs of the Programs Committee, we worked to plan and coordinate the USGBC-NCR's signature event, A Midsummer Night's Green! Despite the heat, we hope that everyone that joined us had a great time! The Netherland's Embassy was a perfect place to celebrate the Chapter's 10th Anniversary. As we move into the fall season we look forward to seeing everyone out at the last GreenScene in October and then at the best holiday party in the industry, Green Tie Affair!' - Nicole Snarski & Andrea Hidalgo, Co-Chairs of the USGBC-NCR Programs Committee

Most recently, Nicole managed the LEED certification process for Terrell Place, the first Trophy office building in Washington DC to earn LEED EB Platinum certification.
Why did you decide to join the USGBC-NCR Chapter?
The Washington DC region is a leader in green building and development! The chapter helps to bring the leaders of the industry together where we can share our successes, learn from each other, and further our efforts as a whole.
Describe your role with the Programs Committee.
Chairing the Programs Committee with Andrea this year has been a lot of fun! We have the honor of planning the events during the Chapter’s 10th Anniversary year! Throughout the year, the Programs Committee events help bring the Chapter Members together at events within the National Capital Region, such as our quarterly GreenScenes and the annual A Midsummer Night's Green and the Green Tie Affair.
What do you enjoy most about your membership with the USGBC-NCR Chapter?
I am inspired by the Chapter's support of the Green Building Movement, local community, and membership. But even better than that, the NCR Chapter is a lot of fun - you will just have to come to the next event to see for yourself!
Tell us about your favorite USGBC-NCR chapter event.
This year's kick-off event was my favorite thus far! It was our Membership Appreciation Event to bring together the Chapter Members for a Committee Open House to expose people to all the different committees that keep our chapter running.
