Emerging Professionals Presents a Screening of Climate Refugees
by Anna Foden, LEED AP, Chapter Services Coordinator
This is an exclusive screening by the USGBC-NCR Emerging Professionals of a documentary called Climate Refugees, directed by Michael Nash (also directed Fuel). The film is a multi-award winning documentary and has been featured at the Sundance Film Festival as well as the Copenhagen Climate Summit. The focus of the film highlights the environmental changes due to global warming as a national security problem the world will face in the future if we continue down our current path. The film documents the consequence of global warming by highlighting the extreme weather patterns and how these natural disasters affect friends, families, towns, cities, and the world. These 'natural disasters' force people to migrate to foreign shores (causes border conflicts), redistributing resources, and touches on basic human kindness. The film is only available through private screenings. Check out the trailer here. "...a resounding wake up call for every human being to go green immediately.
