Saturday, September 29th, 2012 is the Green Apple Day of Service, a day in which community members worldwide will work to make schools and other facilities for children healthier and more sustainable learning environments. The U.S. Green Building Council - National Capital Region Chapter's Emerging Professionals (USGBC-NCR EPs) will work with the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) on their 20th annual Community Improvement Day at Congress Heights Recreation Center. Volunteers will paint, plant, install, landscape, and clean up. The USGBC-NCR EPs are scheduled to volunteer from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start our assigned project together. You may arrive as early as 12:30 PM if you would like to participate in lunch and the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Further details will be emailed to volunteers who sign up.
