Bring your kids to this great event!

Green roofs in Washington, DC are sprouting up all over the place. Green roofs help reduce heating and cooling costs, energy usage, and storm water runoff; they add insulation to buildings, a place for animals and people to enjoy, and increase the value of a building. The Youth Green Roof Tours will give Washingtonians a chance to see DC from a 'birds-eye-view' while learning about the benefits and logistics of installing a green roof on a new or existing building.

Participants will get hands on experiences with building miniature model green roofs. Participating youth and parents can share their excitement about the views and technology with friends, neighbors and coworkers, thereby encouraging everyone to make the city greener, both literally and figuratively.

Ages 10-14. $10.00 per child. No charge for adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult; please register adults as guests of the child.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE TOUR ONLY, PLEASE REGISTER FOR FREE AT http://usgbcncr.org/_events/details/438
